We are the advocates for those who have been dealt an unjust hand by circumstances beyond their control. From the injured road accident victim desperately seeking restitution to the grieving mother left without means to support her family after the tragic loss of her husband, we stand as the voice of reason and justice. Whether it’s fighting for compensation under the RAF Act, seeking accountability for medical negligence, defending the unlawfully imprisoned, or assisting businesses and individuals in navigating legal complexities, we are committed to championing your cause. We are not just attorneys; we are your partners in pursuit of fairness and resolution.
Nicolette de Witt has been an admitted attorney of the high court for in excess of 21 years (since 3 August 2000). A fervent passion for client care, service excellence and ensuring that the wronged claimant receives the damages legally due to them, is what motivated Nicolette to exchange the comfort of practise in “big law” for the more hands on approach which she is able to follow at DWM Attorneys.
Nicolette dealt with a number of high-value and intricate litigation matters during her career:
One matter of which she is particularly proud is the matter of BJ de Klerk versus the Minister of Police, in which the Constitutional Court in 2019 found in favour of the Plaintiff, thereby extending the Minister’s liability in unlawful arrest matters beyond the date of arrest. This judgement saw a special training circular distributed to all SAPS officers dealing specifically with the judgement, and setting out the exact requirements SAPS officers have to meet when effecting arrests.
Nicolette finds true professional fulfilment, not in the big headline making cases, but rather in every matter big or small, successfully finalised on behalf of a happy, well informed client.
